I would be curious to see how the PQ compares against an HTPC that has a discrete GPU such as the Radeon 4670. Obviously this type of device would not replace an HTPC that is used as a PVR or for ripping/encoding/serving, but as a pure media extender I see a lot of potential. I would probably want to wait until W7 comes out since it is supposed to be a lot less of a resource hog then Vista. All you would need is a remote w/ IR receiver or the diNovo Mini that I use and possibly add a USB Blu Ray Drive. Expected price is around $300, which puts it right in line with the PCH and the HD200. If this sleek little device can handle all the media extender needs of my HTPC at a fraction of the cost and a small form factor, ooh baby I am in (Ok, I am a little too excited □ ). Man this thing is so sexy I want to whistle at it, especially since it is supposed to handle 1080p HD content!!! I currently have 2 DIY HTPCs in my house and love the flexability it gives me to choose what interface I want to use. In addtion to a dual-core Atom 330 CPU and Nvidias Ion chioset, ASRocks Ion 330 net-top also sports a Blu-ray drive. There are already a number of Ion 330 configurations on offer, with the 330HT-BD which we are reviewing today being Asrock's most prized. By combining Nvidia's latest chipset with the Intel Atom processor, Asrock has put together an extremely impressive low-profile computer. Despite paying little attention to the hype behind the Nvidia Ion, it turns out we loved Asrock's implementation of the platform. No longer a mere a figment of our imagination, let's get this thought out of the way. This computer sounds like the perfect HTPC and truth be told, it is. Our imaginary computer is about the size of a biscuit tin or about 19x19 cm. Additionally it consumes less power than a traditional incandescent light bulb under full load and generates almost no noise. Shuttle XPC Slim DH370 Mini PC Review - Coffee Lake Bare Bones Kit.
